Your 3 days Marrakech to Merzouga desert will take you further to visit the famous Kasbah of Ait ben Haddou, which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 and has been the setting for a number of films. Program

Day 1: Marrakech to Dades gorges

After breakfast, your driver from MOROCCO TOUR OPERATOR will pick you up from your hotel/riad at 8:30 a.m. Then, begin our 3 days Marrakech to Merzouga desert, passing through Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260 m). Thereafter, passing through authentic small Berber villages along the way with photo stops, then continue to the Kasbah. Also, many films have been made in Ait Ben Haddou (walled village), the famous Kasbah proclaimed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara with Penélope Cruz…

Our 3 days Marrakech to Merzouga desert tours continue to Ouarzazate where we will see Oscar Atlas film studio. Thereafter, Morocco’s largest film studio, and Taourirt kasbah, another heritage site, we will then pass through the magnificent palm grove of Skoura, Rose valley, known for its yearly rose festival and cosmetic products in the month of May. Then, the Valley of Thousand Kasbahs, where we will see so many old centuries adobe structures.

Day 2: Dades gorges to Merzouga desert

After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll depart for Todra Gorge, passing through Tinghir and stopping to admire the beautiful Todra valley full of palm trees before arriving at Todra Gorges, which are currently one of Morocco’s most popular rock climbing destinations. Then, we’ll take a short walk through its grey and pink high canyons that can reach 300 meters. After which we’ll head to Tinjdad and Touroug. After that, we’ll head to Merzouga and the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes, where you’ll take a one-and-a-half-hour camel ride to your Nomadic Berber tents. During the trek, we’ll stop in the middle of the dunes to watch the sunset, try sandboarding if that’s something you’re interested in, take photos, and take in the scenery… After the sun sets, you will be welcomed to the camp with a glass of mint tea, dinner, a campfire, a music party. Overnight stay at Berber camp Merzouga.

Day 3: Merzouga desert to Marrakech

The next day, after watching the sunrise, you’ll have breakfast and shower at the camp before riding camels or taking a 4WD back to the starting point, where you’ll meet your driver. After that, we’ll drive back to Marrakech through the arid pre-desertic area. Then, passing by acacia trees that are typical of this region. We’ll stop along the trip to the Draa valley to take in the stunning views of the river that gives the valley its name. It is Morocco’s longest river. Thereafter, our 3-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga continues via the Anti Atlas Mountains to Ouarzazate. We’ll have some free time in the city for lunch before continuing our journey to Marrakech, where we’ll arrive late afternoon/evening. Transfer to your accommodation and begin your 3-day Sahara desert trip in Morocco.
